Applications are accepted at any time and you can start classes any quarter after all application materials are received and processed by the college. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for quarterly start dates.

Getting Started: Step-by-Step

  1. Submit an application for admission and a $15 one-time, nonrefundable application fee.
  2. Submit an official copy of high school transcript, GED scores, or required documentation from home school program.
  3. Submit an official copy of college transcript(s). Transcripts must be sent directly to Appalachian Technical College.
  4. Submit ACT, ASSET, COMPASS, CPE, or SAT scores. If scores are not available, you may schedule to take the COMPASS placement test at one of our two convenient TARGET Centers.
  5. Visit one of our convenient TARGET Centers for advisement, orientation and registration.

*Applicants for some programs are required to submit additional documentation.

*While most programs may be entered any quarter, there are programs with fewer entry points. Course offerings each quarter may also limit what may be entered for any given quarter. Please see the Programs of Study pages, or visit the TARGET Center for additional information.
